Janet Voûte, chief executive officer of the World Heart Federation, will be the featured speaker at this year's HWS International Dinner, starting at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 8 in the Faculty Dining Room.
Voûte, whose organization is based in Geneva, Switzerland, will also speak at a forum from 5 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 7 in Coxe 8.
CEO since January 2001, Voûte has managed the Geneva office and is responsible for strategic planning, corporate partnerships, development, marketing, communications, finance and information technology as well as being actively involved in global advocacy efforts.
She is a former vice president and partner of Bain and Co., an international strategy consulting firm. During her 10 years with the company, she was responsible for leading European and Asian multinational client projects in growth strategy, marketing, organization design and supply chain management. While she was in charge of the company’s Swiss business, it grew from two to more than 20 consultants.
She holds a master's degree in international politics and economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, D.C., and a bachelor’s degree in government from Smith College in Northampton, Mass. Her daughter, Caroline Voûte, is a member of the Class of 2007.
Dinner tickets are $5 for students, $7 for faculty and staff and guests, and will be on sale during the week.
