The annual awards ceremony and oldest tradition for William Smith College, Moving Up Day, will be Friday, April 28 with students, alumnae, administrators, and faculty members gathering to celebrate the College and the achievements of its women.
The afternoon begins with a traditional procession led by the seniors, who carry laurel garland and a class banner, followed by the other classes, each of which has its own original banner.
The ceremony consists of the presentation of academic and other awards, the sharing of class legacies, the introduction of new student leaders and Hai Timiai members, and the traditional “moving up” of the classes.
A reception at the Melly Center Atrium follows the ceremony, to which all are also invited. Event sponsored by the William Smith deans.
