The 2006 HWS Robot Festival will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 4 in the Geneva Room of the Warren Hunting Smith Library. All are invited.
Students in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science's Computer Architecture class, CPSC 226, have constructed and programmed six autonomous robots built; they will be competing for bragging rights and fabulous prizes.
This year's competition will involve each robot navigating a marked course by following lines and walls, avoiding obstacles, retrieving a ball and finally returning home — all run against the clock.
In addition, there will be demonstrations of AIBO robots, a home fire-fighting robot, MIDI demonstration, and a sonar-equipped dune buggy rover.
Event sponsored by Math/Computer Science.
