Like most people, former Hobart College defensive lineman Chris Griswold '96 will watch Super Bowl XXXVII on Jan. 26, but unlike most, he’ll have one of the best seats in the house. The native of Hornell, N.Y., is a defensive assistant coach with the AFC Champion Oakland Raiders.
Griswold is in his first season with the Raiders after spending three seasons on the coaching staff at Princeton University. In addition to coaching defensive tackles at Princeton, Griswold oversaw the football program’s digital video and computer operations. The 29-year old coached the defensive line at Allegheny College after graduating from Hobart, with a degree in history.
A four-year letterwinner on the Statesmen’s football team, Griswold served as a team captain during his senior season. He compiled 138 tackles in 32 career games, including 26 as a starter.
