Recent Human Rights and Genocide series speaker activist Lenni Brenner was featured in an article in the Jan 23 Daily Messenger (Canandaigua, N.Y.). Brenner discussed his latest book, “51 Documents: Zionist Collaboration with the Nazis,” and critiqued Zionism and the state of the American political system as both relate to Israeli/Palestinian hostilities, according to the article, “The mess in Israel dissected”. His talk was also discussed in the Jan. 24 Finger Lakes Times article “HWS speaker wants secular Israel”.
Brenner favors a one-state solution where Jews and Arabs would have equal rights under the law and the democratic state would be completely secular, devoid of any state religion. He claims that Zionists — and other extremists — are the greatest impediment to this idea because they do not want to see Jews and Arabs living peacefully together, for fear of intermarriage, according to the article.
Brenner was born into an Orthodox Jewish family. He became an atheist at 12, and a Marxist at 15, in 1952. He is presently organizing the Coalition for Narcotic Law Reform.
