Parents Weekend, an HWS tradition, will be celebrated Friday, Sept. 29, Saturday the 30th and Sunday, Oct. 1 with an assortment of activities. Events scheduled for parents, their students and siblings include a Family Casino Night, HWS Cabaret, athletic competitions in field hockey, football and sailing; tours of the new Katherine D. Elliott Studio Arts Center, the Salisbury Center in Trinity Hall, the Finger Lakes Institute, and more.
A career information fair, with parents talking about their own careers, will be Friday afternoon in the library atrium. President Mark D. Gearan will deliver the Presidential Report to Parents at 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Albright Auditorium.
Several Mini-College courses will be offered — ranging from Iva Deutchman of the Political Science faculty on “Modern American Conservatism” and Kristy Kenyon of the Biology faculty on “From Egg to Embryo: An Introduction to Development Biology” to Don Spector of the Physics faculty on “What Makes a Weapon a WMD?” — in two sessions on Saturday morning.
