HWS Votes Hosts Election Night Party

On election night, Tuesday, Nov. 7, HWS Votes! will sponsor a bipartisan party beginning at 8 p.m. in the Cellar Pub, in the basement of Coxe Hall on Pulteney Street. Students, faculty and staff will watch the election returns. Free munchies and soda, as well as regular menu items, will be available. There are plenty of TV screens in the Cellar Pub and the group plans to watch the network news coverage, and of course the Daily Show and Colbert Report’s “Midterm Midtacular” at 11 p.m.

HWS Votes! is a non-partisan group of student leaders devoted to the continuous voter registration and education of Hobart and William Smith Colleges students, as well as the Geneva community. The group aims to instill a sense of civic duty among students through active participation in the democratic process. The goal is to work with other politically oriented groups on campus to maximize student participation and understanding of the electoral process. HWS Votes! is run through the HWS Public Service Office, with the assistance of director Ave Bauder.

The community is invited to both events. For more details, call the Public Service Office at (315) 781-3825.
