First Book Geneva and the Kappa Alpha Society will sponsor Skating for Stories, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Geneva Recreation Complex’s ice rink on South Exchange Street.
During the public skating hour on Saturday, a portion of the $4 entrance fee will go to the local First Book chapter, to provide books for local children. In addition, students will sell baked goods, skate and play with the children, and the Hobart hockey team may make an appearance as well.
A Hobart hockey game will begin at 4 p.m. and First Book Geneva and Kappa Alpha Society will continue to sell baked goods at the hockey game as well.
Skating for Stories is open to everyone—students, faculty and residents of Geneva.
First Book is an international non-profit organization that gives children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books.
