The Colleges Community Chorus, directed by Irina Georgieva, will present selections from Felix Mendelssohn's oratorio “Elijah” in concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28 in St. John's Chapel.
Accompanied by organist Molly Hamilton and pianist Meg Heaton, the chorus will feature soloists Caris Burton and Chris Wertman, sopranos; Joanna Roelofs, mezzo-soprano; Steve Kane, tenor; and Murray Heaton and Tom McClure, basses.
“Elijah” recounts major events in the life of that Biblical prophet. Originally from Bulgaria, Georgieva completed her master's degree at Northwestern University and is pursuing a doctoral degree at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.
The concert, sponsored by the Department of Music, is free and open to the public.
