A panel discussion featuring Dr. Jeremy Cushman ’96 and four Health Professions students will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1 in Coxe 8.
Cushman, an Emergency Department physician at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, will talk about how his scholarship, leadership and services experiences at HWS. These experiences encouraged him to seek enriching leadership opportunities during medical school and helped establish his philosophy about the successful practice of emergency medicine after medical school.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology cum laude, with a minor in individual studies at HWS. He was a resident adviser and student athletic trainer, a member of Druids, Hobart Student Association and a student trustee. He earned his medical degree at the University of Maryland in 2001 and is historian of the Hobart Alumni Council.
The student speakers will be:
• Chequira Christie ’07, on “Abroad in Africa;”
• Jamie Hutchins ’08, on his rural clinical internship;
• Christina Kinnevey ’09, on campus and community leadership; and
• Meaghan McCarthy ’08, on research at the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station, in Geneva.
Students and prospective students interested in the Health Professions Program are encouraged to attend; all are welcome.
