Yates ’55 to discuss American auto industry

Brock Yates '55 will be a guest on WXXI Radio’s “1370 Connection. He will discuss the state of the American auto industry with host Bob Smith.

Gaining international fame as a race car driver, Yates went on become managing editor of Car & Driver Magazine and a contributor to publications including The Washington Post, The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Wall Street Journal and Playboy. Yates also wrote the screenplays for Smokey and the Bandit II and The Cannonball Run.

He is the author of several books, the latest being “Against Death and Time: One Fatal Season in Racing’s Glory Years.

The show will be broadcast at 1 p.m. on February 22 on WXXI AM 1370.
