Linda Robertson of the Media and Society Department will lead a discussion of the documentary film “The Black Press: Soldiers Without Swords,” beginning at 7 p.m. in the library's Sanford Room.
The event has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 6.
The film is the first documentary to provide an in-depth examination of the history and contributions of African American newspapers. Since the early 1800’s Black newspapers have existed in almost every major city in the U.S., filling an important role in African American communities.
The screening and talk afterward are part of the HWS celebration of Black History Month.
All are invited.
