Janam, India’s best-known street theatre group, will be on campus right after Spring break, for a four-day residency sponsored by the Fisher Center.
Since its formation in 1973, these self-trained actors have presented more than 7,500 performances of street and proscenium plays in about 140 towns and cities of India.
As part of its first tour of the United States, Janam will offer performances, workshops, a talk and a film screening. All of these events are co-sponsored with the Office of the Provost and Dean of Faculty, Department of Education, Global Education, Young Memorial Trust for International Peace and Understanding, Colgate University, Hamilton College, Syracuse University, Smith College and Trinity University.
Details and a full schedule are available at Janam schedule.
