During the winter months when most people are heading for the inside, a select few venture out into the cold. The Hobart and William Smith Ski Team (currently under club status) has had three of its five regular season races this year. Feb. 1 and 2 the team managed to hold its own in the all conference invitational, which consisted of the Empire and Adirondack division, all together 24 teams. On Sunday the Hobart team managed to pull down a 2nd place team finish for the invitational and when scored a 1st place finish in the Empire division. For the season the Hobart team is ranked 4th out of a field of 12 teams with senior Chris Roffe ranked 12, and juniors Graham Chapek and Chris Huges ranked 14-15 individually. Currently the youthful William Smith squad is ranked 7th with first-year Kate Warner ranked 2nd for the season. With two more races in the regular season to go with the opportunity for a place at Regionals in Seven Springs, Pa.
