With a quick take on the action and a comedic edge, Chris Carlin 95 is always ready to keep his listeners up to date on the latest sports news, both on and off the turf. Carlin will bring his famous style to bear as the speaker at the upcoming Benjamin Hale dinner on Friday, April 13.
The dinner, which begins at 6:15 p.m. in Scandlings Common Room, will also feature Thomas Baptiste 07 as the student speaker. Baptiste, an Eastchester, NY native is a member of Newman Club and the College Republicans.
Carlin is currently the sports anchor for the popular syndicated radio show Imus in the Morning, hosted by Don Imus. He has also worked as a Play-by-Play Announcer for NFL Europe and as host of NFL Roundup and other programs for Sprints mobile phone network.
An English major, Carlin began his broadcasting career at WEOS, eventually becoming Sports Director for the station. After graduation, Carlin moved on to other local sports coverage, including play-by-play coverage for the New York Giants and Rutgers University Football.
Carlin is an enterprising businessman, sportscaster and radio personality, said Interim Dean Eugen Baer. He is both entertaining and inspiring. It will be a pleasure to welcome him back to his alma mater on the occasion of the Benjamin Hale dinner.
Students and faculty who wish to attend the dinner are asked to call Roberta Whitwood in the Hobart Deans Office, ext. 3300.
