Blakowski scores in Team USA rout of Korea

Running back Doug Blakowski's post-Hobart playing career got off to a flying start today in Team USA's first contest in the 2007 World Championship of American Football. The 2007 graduate carried the ball six times for 39 yards and a touchdown in a 77-0 rout of Korea.

Blakowski scored on a 4-yard run in the second quarter that gave Team USA a 35-0 lead.

There was little work for the offense (266 total yds) in the American's first appearance in the international event. Special teams and defense accounted for 42 points in the lopsided victory.

The Americans are back on the gridiron on Thurs., July 12, when they face Germany, a 32-2 winner over Korea on Saturday. The winner will advance to the gold medal game.

A complete recap of the game can be found on Team USA's official Web site.
