Corcoran to speak on sales careers

Joe Corcoran ’79, President and CEO of Impact Performance Group, will speak on “A Career in Sales,” beginning at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 in Trinity 305. His talk is part of the Salisbury Center for Career Services' Professionals in Residence series.

Individual coaching for students preparing for careers in sales will be offered the next day, Friday, Sept. 21. Appointments are necessary and may be scheduled at Career Services on the first floor of Trinity, no later than Thursday, Sept. 20.

With 30 employees in seven locations, Impact Performance Group, based near Boston, specializes in identifying and implementing strategies essential to sales and service improvement.

He worked at Lincoln First Bank after graduating, and later held positions as director of sales for Learning International, account manager for Xerox Learning Systems and account executive for Corning Glass.

While at Hobart, he played lacrosse, was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, worked at Saga and received the Harry W. Anderson Charitable Foundation Scholarship and the Kent W. Marbury Memorial Award. He has been an active admissions and career services volunteer and serves on the SAA board of directors.
