Iklé offers dance residency at MTSU

Assistant Professor of Dance Michelle Iklé recently returned from a week-long guest residency at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

During her time there, she taught classes in modern and jazz techniques and re-staged “Crossing Ground,” a jazz ensemble piece for 10 dancers. An original score is being created for the work by a local percussionist who will perform with the dancers in MTSU's repertory concert at the end of November.

This was Iklé's second trip to MTSU this year; she taught at the prestigious Governor's School for the Arts earlier this summer, where she premiered her solo “wrought” and a duet with Kim Neal Nofsinger, artistic director of the Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre.
