As you walk past Emerson Hall on any given evening, you will hear a variety of acoustic-electric-jam songs blasting from the third floor. For a second, you may wonder whether these are the popular tunes of Dave Matthews Band.
What you are hearing is the band “Annie in the Water practicing tirelessly to perfect their original melodies. The group, which is comprised of Brad Hester ’09 and Rob Thompson ’10, as well as their friend Mike Lashomb from Siena College, has been producing music together for over a year now.
On Saturday, Oct. 6, the group will exhibit their talent for the HWS community, with a live performance in The Barn. Open to all students, the Basement Jam will take place from 9 to 11 p.m., with harvest-like refreshments being served. The Office of Student Affairs will also give away tickets to both the Gym Class Heroes and Glenn Miller Orchestra performances throughout the evening. The Barn will remain open until midnight.
“Not only is it exciting to be able to get in front of people and play, said Hester, “But to show my friends and peers what our group can do and how far we’ve come in the last months, is especially exciting.
