The Hip~NotiQ's step/dance team will host their annual showcase, Hip~NotiQ Hip~Nosis, starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10 in the auditorium at Geneva High School, 101 Carter Road.
The show will feature singing, dancing and guest artists; shuttle buses will be provided to and from the high school, starting at 6:15 p.m. from the Medbery parking lot on Pulteney Street.
Chequira Christie ’07 started the team when she enrolled here and didn't find one: she was part of a step team in junior high school and started one when she reached high school.
She and eight other students started stepping and debuted with Koshare, the HWS student-run dance group. They promote multiculturalism through step and other dancing on campus and perform at other club events and the proceeds from the annual show go to charity. The Hip~NotiQ's have recently performed at MLK campus celebrations, Heritage Day, the Mardi Gras masquerade benefit, and the on-campus launch of Campaign for the Colleges.
Tickets are $10 general admission and $5 for students. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity.
