On Saturday, Nov. 3, the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Chorale and Cantori vocal groups will perform their first concert of the semester. Under the direction of Professor of Music Robert Cowles, the evening will begin at 8 p.m. in St. John’s Chapel.
Performances will include pieces from Joseph Haydn, J.M. Bach, Beethoven, and French Renaissance composer Josqauin des Prez.
Chorale and Cantori are both a cappella groups consisting of men and women. Chorale has 38 members; Cantori, the more select choir, has 18 members.
Their next performance, the Madrigal Dinner Concert, will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 in the Comstock Dining Room. The program will include “A Ceremony of Carols, by Benjamin Britten. Tickets will be $25 for the public and $10 for students and proceeds will benefit the Rape and Abuse Crisis Service of the Finger Lakes.
