Fred Rogers, the host of the public television show “Mister Roger's Neighborhood,” died of cancer early Thursday, Feb. 27. He was 74. His obituary is an Associated Press story. Rogers received an L.L.D. from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in 1985, and gave that year's commencement address. His biography is available from Family Communications, and mentions the honorary degree he received from the Colleges, as does the Feb. 28 Washington Post story “Children's TV Icon Fred Rogers Dies at 74”.
