“Monalisa Exiled,” a play written and directed by Julius Ferraro '08 as an honors project in theater, will be presented beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th in the Bartlett Theatre in Coxe Hall.
The play is described as “a playful comedy, exploring themes of claustrophobia, border-crossing, the strangeness of strangers and the chaos of inner life.” In it, Monalisa wakes up in a world that is unfamiliar and claustrophobic, and is forced to defend herself against the threat of exile.
Acting in the play are Katherine Hartwell '10, Alexander Johnson '11, Eli Levine '11, Denisse Polanco '11, Lindsey Polishook '11 and Daniel Thorson '09. Ralph Dressler, technical director at the Bartlett Theatre, worked with Jessica Cohen '10 and Peter Marciano '08 to design the show.
Tickets are $5 general admission, and free to HWS students, faculty and staff, and donations to the student theater group are suggested. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m. each night.
