On Wednesday, Feb. 20, the Warren Hunting Smith Library atrium will transform from a quiet gathering area into the home of an indoor rowing marathon for Hobart and William Smith crew teams' Row for Community.
This year, rowers, coxswains and coaches will put their cardiovascular endurance to work enabling them to raise money for the Geneva Boxing Club, Geneva Agri-Business Child Development Center, two Geneva-based Community Lunch Programs, the Middlesex Elementary School as well as the crew teams' spring training trip.
Each year, student-athletes solicit for donations from friends and family by pledging to row a continuous hour on an ergometer. Those who are interested in supporting the teams are welcome to participate, or simply purchase raffle tickets or this year's T-shirt, designed by William Smith senior Kathryn Louis. T-shirts can be purchased for $12 on Wednesday and raffle tickets will be sold for $1 each or 6 for $5.
The event is scheduled to take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
