Aisha Rivers '07 has been named Program Coordinator at the Office of Intercultural Affairs. As Program Coordinator, she will work closely with the various cultural clubs on campus and serve as an advisor to members of these organizations. In addition, Rivers will also work with members of the greater Geneva Community to encourage them to become more involved with the cultural clubs on campus and attend ICA events.
“I'm happy to be back,” says Rivers. “I hope to foster communication between the cultural clubs of Hobart and William Smith Colleges and the wider Geneva community. It's important to have knowledge of different backgrounds so that we can eliminate misconceptions and stereotypes.”
While at HWS, Rivers was a Sociology and Africana studies major and a member of Sankofa. She was also an active member of the Youth Enrichment House, a theme house that supports and encourages high school students to attend college.
Alejandra Molina, director of Intercultural Affairs, is pleased that Rivers has joined her staff. “Welcoming Aisha back to HWS has been a great joy. In these few months I have witnessed her dedication to our students and her commitment to the success of all the cultural clubs at the Colleges.”
