Temple Trains in Tanzania

Last week Charlie Temple, professor of education, was in Tanzania training “national facilitators” to train “zonal facilitators” to teach 53,000 primary school teachers so they can upgrade their own education levels from about 6th grade to about 12th grade, in the next three years. The training went very well, and the Tanzanian Ministry of Education and Culture, along with UNESCO–which sponsored the trip–asked his team and him to write up the manuals that will guide all the facilitators in the country in the work, and also study manuals that will show these 53,000 teachers how to cope with the mountain of materials they must learn over the next three years.
