A career in hospitality and event planning

Chris Coffin '83, general manager of the Doubletree Guest Suites-Boston, will share his expertise in the fields of hospitality, management and events planning on Thursday and Friday, April 10 and 11, as a guest of the Professionals in Residence speaker series. Prior to becoming general manager, Coffin held a variety of titles in the hotel industry ranging from room service manager to director of rooms at the Omni Park Central in New York City. In 2004, he was awarded “Cluster GM of the Year” by the Boston Area Hilton Family of Hotels.

His lecture will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10 in Trinity 305.

Since joining Hilton Hotels Corporation in 1998, Coffin has specialized in repositioning distressed operations into profitable and service-oriented organizations through strong analytical and organizational skills and aggressive hands-on leadership. Coffin also holds a master's degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University.
