The Colleges Department of Information Technology hosted a gathering March 27 for New York colleges and universities to learn about the Colleges' computer purchase program for incoming first year students. Gateway Computers sponsored this event and selected the HWS program as the model for other schools. Bev Ilacqua, director of support services, and Mike Allington '02, student and academic support specialist, coordinated and led the event. DOIT staff members Jeff Devuyst, Mike Ruiz, Marc Fruehauf, Deb Jerome and Brian Young participated. Eight schools from around the state (Alfred State, SUNY Brockport, Canisius, Canton, Cobleskill, Cortland, St. Bonaventure, and Syracuse University) came to learn about the purchasing program.
