Michael Dobkowski, professor of religious studies, was quoted in the April 18 Hartford (Conn.) Courant in the article “Lieberman Has Yet To Electrify Key Backers”. The article focused on Jewish support for Joseph Lieberman, based on fundraising numbers.
“Even before 9/11 there was an increasing level of anxiety in the Jewish community about a rise of anti-Semitism” because of tensions in the Middle East, said Dobkowski. “Jews are more nervous about Lieberman than they were two or three years ago. They may say, `Let's not complicate our lives.'”
