In recovering from cancer, Tom Gravante '88 has plenty to hold on to: his life, his growing family and his lacrosse team. His story was chronicled in the May 2 Baltimore Sun article “Rebirth that's long on labor”. Gravante, the men's lacrosse coach at Mount St. Mary's, has been battling non-Hodgkin's lymphoma for three years, and was in remission until last fall. With a bone marrow transplant from his brother, given five days after his wife gave birth to their first child, he is able to coach, by walkie-talkie. Mount St. Mary's won their conference championship May 4 and are headed to the NCAA Division I tournament.
