Ken DeBolt, director of sports information at Hobart and William Smith and volunteer firefighter for the Geneva Volunteer Fire Department, was photographed by the Finger Lakes Times rescuing a cat from a house fire on Hallenbeck Avenue on June 10.

DeBolt joined Hobart and William Smith in 1999. A native of Geneva, DeBolt graduated magna cum laude from the University of Dayton, with a bachelor of science degree in sports management and a minor in journalism. He is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America, and has served as media assistant for several Division II and Division III championship series.
DeBolt has been a volunteer firefighter for several years. In 2001, he was named firefighter of the year by the C.J. Hook & Ladder Co. of the Geneva Fire Department.
