Gallouët has New Articles Published

Catherine Gallouët’s article “Le coup de foudre dans le roman français du XVIIIe siècle; une comparaison entre romans ‘féminins’ et ‘masculins’,” is being published online at www.roquade.nl/womenwriters. This site hosts a project “Les écrivains femmes et leurs publics” on a Web site called “Réseaux de romancières/Women Writers' Networks,” connected to the databank “WomenWriters” at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.

Her 1992 article, “L'Invitation au voyage, ou la dynamique du double registre dans les Journaux,” was reprinted in Études sur les ‘Journaux’ de Marivaux, ed. Nicholas Cronk et François Moureau, Oxford, Voltaire Foundation, Vif, 2001, 141-144.

In November '01, Gallouët was one of the speakers at the XVth international meeting of the Société d’Analyse de la topique Romanesque, which met at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris; her presentation, “L’état sauvage: la géographie romanesque de Marivaux,” analysed the different geographies in early 18th c. French fiction and their link to the different forms of contemporary fiction.

In December '01, Gallouët also gave a paper at a special session of the French 18th c. Division of the MLA, “L’esprit de la rue et le spectacle de l’écriture dans les Journaux de Marivaux,” an analysis of Marivaux’s aesthetics.
