Harvey Guthrie, 77, died July 28 at Northampton Health Care Center. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Sept. 21, 1925, he was the son of Alfred H. and Frederica W. (Weisbach) Guthrie. He served in the Navy during World War II as an ensign from 1944 to 1946. In 1948 he received a bachelor of arts degree in English and history from Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y., in 1950 and received a bachelor of arts and masters degree in theology from Oxford University. He attended the seminary of Episcopal and Theological School in Cambridge in 1950 and in 1951 received a bachelor of divinity. He was ordained an Episcopal priest. His obituary was published by the July 30 Greenfield, Mass., Recorder.
