“We are women…And we play drums!”
So proclaims VOICES OF AFRICA, an internationally acclaimed, all female, African American, vocal and percussion performing arts ensemble that brings their original, heart-altering sounds to the Smith Opera House on Saturday, February 9. The performance starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for seniors and children ages 12 and under, and are available at The College Store. The Smith is located at 82 Seneca Street in Geneva. Based in Philadelphia, Voices Of Africa was established in 1989 to learn, teach, and demonstrate the art of African percussion instruments and songs. Their spirited and passionate playing enlightens and instills in their audiences pride for the African heritage.
