Pianist DeGaetano in Concert

Pianist Robert DeGaetano will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, at Emerson Auditorium, East Middle School, in Auburn. His recital will feature compositions by Frederic Chopin, Samuel Barber, Ludwig van Beethoven and Claude Debussy. It is the second in the Adams Foundation Piano Series presented by the Cayuga County Arts Council and the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center.

DeGaetano replaces Ruth Laredo, who has canceled all performances due to illness. Tickets sold for the original April 27 performance of Ms. Laredo will be accepted for admission.

A New York City native, Mr. DeGaetano is a graduate of the Julliard School and the first musician to be awarded a Rotary International Scholarship. His orchestral debut was in 1971, with the San Antonio Symphony. In 1975 he made his New York recital debut at Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Since then he has performed in all fifty states as well as the major music capitals of Europe. In February 1999 Mr. DeGaetano made his Carnegie Hall
recital.
