Rejoice in family, faith, and the triumph of hope and patriotism over evil and fear with The Sound of Music, opening June 20 on the Hangar Theatre’s Mainstage.
In writing The Sound of Music, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II intended a greater purpose than simply celebrating one family’s story. They intended the play to be an examination of the choices people make, and the responsibility of persons as family members, citizens and patriots to do what is right, even when that is a challenge. The Hangar’s production of The Sound of Music hearkens back to this original intention of its creators.
