At 83, Jennie Kingsley is Lyons’ answer to Grandma Moses. She has amassed a collection of landscapes and memories of her life. Her husband, George Kingsley, was a minister serving at 12 churches in the area, his last church being the Alton Methodist Church, sponsors of the show. Kingsley painted the many different places she saw during her travels. She taught art and worked with children, and she also enjoyed puppet making. Many of her puppets join her paintings on display. The opening reception for Kingsley will be held from 1 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, at the Erie Canal Cultural Center, 165 Water Street, Lyons. Gallery hours for the show are 1 until 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
