On August 2, the Geneva Historical Society and the Genesee Country Village and Museum will bring visitors to Geneva's McDonough Park back to the 1800s. In conjunction with the exhibit From Rag Ball to Pro Ball: Baseball in Ontario County, the Society will sponsor a 19th-century base ball game at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 2, at the park. Two teams from the Genesee Country Village Silver Base Ball Park League will play by 19th-century rules, wearing 19th-century uniforms. During the game, visitors will learn some 19th-century baseball slang and meet and interact with players and the umpire.
Advance sale tickets are $2 per person and are available at the Society offices and at Rose Hill Mansion. Tickets are $3 at the gate. Children 5 and under are free. For more information call 789-5151.
