Seneca Community Players Holds Auditions For Christmas Presentation

Seneca Community Players will hold open auditions for its production of Merry Christmas, George Bailey, a radio play adapted from the Lux Radio Theatre broadcast of 1947. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday and Monday, Oct. 13 and 14, at SCP headquarters, located on Cowing Street, Canalside in Seneca Falls (behind Bailey's).

Based on the classic Frank Capra holiday film It's A Wonderful Life starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, this show will be presented on stage as a 1940s radio broadcast complete with live sound effects of the period.

Parts are available for 15 men and women of all ages as well as a number of boys and girls. Due to the large number of speaking roles, people who can do multiple voices are especially welcome. In addition to reading, all participants should bring a calendar of potential rehearsal date conflicts.

The production will be held at 8 p.m. on Dec. 5, 6 and 7 at the Visitor's Center in Seneca Falls and at 2 p.m. on Dec. 8 at the Smith Opera House. For more information, contact Jim MacNeal at 315-539-9613.
