The Man Who Came to Dinner

The Canandaigua Academy Players will be presenting George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart's classic comedy, “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Academy Auditorium, East St. Canandaigua. Set in the 1940s, the play tells the story of Sheridan Whiteside, international orator, who accepts an invitation to dine with the Stanleys, a prominent Ohio family. As Whiteside walks toward the house he slips on the ice, hurting his leg badly. As he's carried inside, he threatens a lawsuit. The Stanleys, frightened by the threats, accommodate Whiteside's outlandish wishes, throwing the household into pandemonium. Tickets are $6 in advance, $7 at the door. Call the Canandaigua Academy Box Office at 585-396-3974 for more information.
