Auditions for the Geneva Theatre Guild's summer musical, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, May 28 and 29, at the Smith Opera House, 82 Seneca Street, Geneva. This witty, fast-paced farce requires a large cast. People auditioning are asked to wear comfortable clothes and bring a prepared song to sing. The song may be from the show. Director Steve Duprey will conduct readings from the script for the major roles.
Music director for the production is Robert Cowles, assisted by Troy Slocum. April Pettingill is the choreographer.
Major roles are the uninhibited, wily slave Pseudolus; his old, henpecked master and battle-ax mistress; their innocent young son; a lovely young woman; a faithful and frantic servant; a very old distraught man whose eyesight is almost a memory; and a man among men warrior. The Guild is also looking for people to work on the set, costumes, stage crew, make up and publicity.
