‘Amadeus’ on the Syracuse Stage

A vibrant drama, richly costumed, and steeped in period ambiance, “Amadeus”explores the tortured soul of Antonio Salieri who, in the shadow of the shining genius of chief rival Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, ekes out an existence of bitter mediocrity and jealousy. Did the righteous man’s disappointment in his own talent and his anger at God for bestowing true genius on an unworthy pup drive him to kill his younger, more talented rival? “Amadeus” will run from Sept. 17-Oct. 11 at the Syracuse Stage.
