The Women’s Council of the Geneva Historical Society will present the 35th annual Wassail Bowl and Sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, at The Presbyterian Church, 24 Park Place in Geneva.
Sale items will include fresh wreaths and greens, kissing balls, table decorations, tree ornaments, handmade items, baked goods, and attic treasures. The 2004 Yolanda Schofield Erie Canal Calendar and other items from the Society’s gift shop will be sold. Wassail, a traditional spiced cider, will also be available for tasting at the event.
Once again, the Women’s Council is sponsoring a Wassail Bowl raffle. The prizes this year are an overnight stay at Geneva on the Lake, 30 peony blossoms from Styer Peonies, a framed watercolor by Jon George, a $50 gift certificate to Harvest Hill, and a $25 gift certificate to Pasta Only Cobblestone Restaurant or Kyo Asian Bistro. Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 tickets for $5 and are available at the Historical Society office (543 South Main Street) or at the Wassail Bowl sale.
In addition, there will be a separate raffle the day of the sale. For $1 per chance, one could win a special “Wassail” Bear custom-made by Babette McCusker for the sale. Admission to the Wassail Bowl and Sale is free of charge. For further information about this event, please call the Society office at 789-5151.
