Is national security and personal privacy a zero sum game? Tracy Mitrano, director of information technology and computer policy and law at Cornell University, will give “The Patriot Act and How It Affects Your Rights As A Citizen” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13, at the Presbyterian Church, Pulteney Park, Geneva. This talk will review some of the provisions of the Patriot Act that have been cause for concern among people across the political spectrum. There will be a focus on new surveillance procedures, new exceptions to existing privacy legislation and a discussion on the relationship between national and electronic security.
