Happiness House invites the community to participate in the fourth annual “Hike for Happiness House,” an indoor community walk-a-thon. The event will take place from 2 until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, at The Bristol Field House at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, located on Hamilton Street in Geneva. Open registration from 2 until 4 p.m. No distance or time requirements.
Hike sponsors for this year's event include D'Amico Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep, First Niagara Bank, Lamar Outdoor Advertising, The Finger Lakes Radio Group and Wal-Mart of Geneva.
Celebrity guests include Christine Webb and Darren Mark of NewsSource 13; Ed Fortuna, Caricaturist; Hawks Alive Educational Programs by Braddock Bay Raptor Research Organization with birds of prey; and the Case BMX Trick Team sponsored by KINK BMX Bikes of Rochester, NY will present three 20-minute stunt demonstrations. Live music by Weekender. Refreshments and children's crafts. Raffle drawing to include a tricycle, a BMX bike donated by KINK BMX Bikes of Rochester, NY, autographed apparel donated by Orange County Choppers and autographed apparel donated by Billy Lane of Choppers, Inc. Raffle tickets available the day of the event only – $2 each or 3 tickets for $5.
Donations accepted at the door. Donate or raise $25 to receive a Hike T-shirt; $75 to receive a hat plus a Hike T-shirt; or $150 to receive a backpack plus a Hike T-shirt. All proceeds from the event will benefit children and adults with disabilities who attend programs or receive services at Happiness House.
Wheelchairs and adaptive mobility devices are welcome. Sorry, no animals, bikes, rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, etc. permitted in the facility.
