Register for February Wayne Art Classes

Free after school art classes for children ages 6-14 will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Wayne Arts. Parents should call 331-4593 in advance to sign up for their child. The February classes will feature drawing and cartooning. Space is limited and on a first come, first served basis.

During Feb. break week kids can make a cartoon strip in a week-long Creature Creations Cartooning class taught by Brian Petty. One-day classes during break are also available from 10 to 11:30 a.m. each day: Feb. 16 is bookmaking; Feb. 17 watercolor painting; Feb. 18 metamorphosis drawing; Feb. 19 mobiles and Feb. 20 printmaking power. Cost is $5 per class, $25 for the week. Call 331-4593 to register.

Puppet Party will be taught by Diane Davis from 1 to 4 p.m. on three Saturdays in Feb. (14, 21 and 28). Anyone interested in making puppets, staging, props and a performance should call and register. Cost is $45 per family/$40 for Wayne Arts members, and includes supplies.

Jewelry for Fun
For two Sundays, Feb. 22 and 29, children ages 6-14 can make their own beads and combine them with colorful beads to create their own unique jewelry. Cost is $35/$30 for members includes supplies.

Ceramic Pottery
Learn pottery making and make some beautiful glazed pottery. Held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings February 9, 12,17, 19, 24 & 26 from 6:30-9:30. Cost is $75/$70 for members includes materials.

Oil Painting taught by Sharon Weimer
An ongoing oil class for beginners and up. Bring in a favorite photo and make it into a beautiful painting. All the oil techniques are covered. Five sessions from 1:30-3 p.m. on Thursdays. Cost is $45/$40 for members.

Watercolor Paintings Andrea Cornett will help hone watercolor techniques to create unique, soft and vivid images. On five Thursdays, February 26, March 4, 11, 18 and 25 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Cost is $75/$70 for members.

Explore the anatomy of the human figure and learn how to represent it on paper. Six sessions on Mondays, Feb. 9, 16, 23, March 1, 8 and 15, 6:30-9 p.m. Cost is $90/$85 members.
