Singer/Songwriter Jonatha Brooke at the State Theatre

Singer/songwriter Jonatha Brooke, the chief artistic force behind the Story, will be performing at the State Theatre in Ithaca at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 22, as part of her national tour. Brooke's newest CD, Back in the Circus, was released February 24, 2004, and is her fourth solo work since leaving the folk-pop duo the Story in the 90s.

Brooke has drawn critical acclaim and a large fan base because of her insightful lyrics and expressive voice. Billboard Magazine wrote that her latest album “is a literate, lyrical and luminous chef d'oeuvre” and Rolling Stone raves “[she] has been making intimate, well-crafted records for years.”
