Ithaca Performance Added for the Hangar’s ASL Interpreted Production of Jack and the Beanstalk

The Hangar is adding a final free public performance of Jack and the Beanstalk: at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, at the Ithaca Youth Bureau, located at 1 James L. Gibbs Drive, Ithaca.

An original play based on the classic fairy tale, Jack and the Beanstalk is a fresh, exciting, magical story about Jack, a boy who is Deaf, and his adventures at home with his family and with giants in the sky. This adaptation by Marjorie Sokoloff is performed simultaneously in English and American Sign Language and stars five talented actors, two are Deaf, one is hard of hearing, and two are hearing. A world premiere, this production celebrates the Hangar’s ongoing commitment to telling stories for all audiences that reflect our entire community and offers an exciting opportunity for audiences to share in diverse experiences, languages, and theatrical style.
