Auditions for the Geneva Theatre Guild’s summer musical, Man of La Mancha, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, May 17 and 18, at the Smith Opera House, 82 Seneca St., Geneva.
One of the world’s most beloved musicals, Man of La Mancha tells the timeless story of Don Quixote, a mad, gallant figure born 300 years too late. Accompanied by his faithful servant, Sancho Panza, he sets out to right the wrongs of the world. The show’s most memorable song, “The Impossible Dream” tells of his futile quest.
The musical will be directed by Steven Duprey, with music direction by Christine Sauter. Assistant Music Director is Troy Slocum and April Pettingill will choreograph the show.
Roles are available for individuals thirteen and up. People auditioning should bring a prepared song to sing and wear comfortable clothes for dancing.
The Guild is also looking for volunteers to help with the set, costumes, stage crew and make up.
Man of La Mancha will be presented July 16, 17 and 18, at the Smith Opera House. For more information, contact the director at firstname.lastname@example.org, phone the show’s producer, Eleanor Stearns at 789-8985, or visit the Guild’s redesigned Web site at www.gtglive.org.
