Colleges Recognized by Peace Corps

When Peace Corps representative Kimberly McMinn was on campus Sept. 30 to tell students about opportunities in the Corps, she also presented President Mark Gearan and Hobart and William Smith Colleges with a certificate of appreciation “in grateful recognition of the long-standing partnership between Hobart and William Smith and the Peace Corps.” Over the past 42 years, 149 graduates of the Colleges have served as Peace Corps volunteers. Faculty members with Peace Corps affiliations, including Professors Alan Frishman and Richard Salter and Associate Provost Jonathan Wolff, also attended the event, as well as Genevan Matthew McClune, who had just returned from Africa on a stint with the Peace Corps.
